Johnson Waste Management Ltd.

Eric Johnson
Eric Johnson, President of Johnson Waste Management Ltd., has over 40 impressive years of waste management experience. He began as a young man operating his own waste hauling and cartage business in Winnipeg, which he sold to Browning Ferris Industries (BFI) becoming General Manager of Saskatchewan, Manitoba and North-western Ontario operations.

Eric's exemplary performance and management skills were rewarded when he was asked to move to Toronto to direct their Canadian operations as President of BFI Canada. As a result of an overseas acquisition, Eric's considerable experience and talents were required in London, England where he acted as Co-Managing Director of BFI's United Kingdom operations. It was a posting he much enjoyed giving him new insight on how waste management is handled in the U.K. and other European countries.

After selling their European operations, Eric took an early retirement from BFI. Longing to apply some of the innovative operational and service techniques he acquired overseas, Eric returned home to Winnipeg.

In March 2000, Eric, along with his two sons, Jeff and Grant, who also have had a wide and varied career within the industry, formed Johnson Waste Management Ltd.

The old axiom "experience begets experience" is a truism when applied to Johnson Waste Management Ltd. because they have been able to attract to their management team other people with a wealth of industry experience who also share the company's philosophy, enthusiasm and desire to bring innovative ideas and service excellence to the Winnipeg market.

Grant Johnson
Grant's training in the waste management business began in early 1986 working part time doing odd maintenance jobs like washing containers, cleaning floors, and litter patrol while still attending high school. Since 1989, when he began full time in the business, Grant has worked on the operational side of the business giving him a unique and valuable understanding of customer wants and needs. His current focus is sales.

Grant's expertise, insight and enthusiasm for life uniquely qualify him as a valuable member of the Johnson Waste Management Ltd. customer service and sales team.
